30 Days, 30 Posts, 1 New Project

Thomas Sanlis

Hi there,

I’ve got so many things to say, I don’t know where to start 😅.

I guess I mostly have two important things to tell you.

As you may or may not know, I’m about to leave France for a one-month-long Hacker Residency in Da Nang, Vietnam.

This is, without a doubt, the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’ve never left Europe, and I didn’t travel much. Needless to say, I’m beyond excited by this, and I’ll be enjoying it as much as I can.

Maybe I’m a little too excited, because I already started packing 😂

I even started a list of things I have to take 😬

Anyway, there’s one important thing I wanted to tell you about this upcoming journey 👇🏻

I’ll be writing one blog post every day, without exception, in full transparency, about my life there. Expect some genuine content, such as my mental breakdowns, complaints, wins, failures, struggles, meal pictures etc.

I’ve never done that before, but I already know that’s gonna be a lot of work. And I know you know it too.

So… Why I am doing this?

This is the second important thing I want to tell you today.

I’m about to release a new project.

Writizzy

This new project is called Writizzy. It’s a minimalist, powerful blogging platform. In fact, I’m currently writing this post on Writizzy 🙌🏻!

For the first time, I’m partnering with someone on a project. And this someone is Hugo Lassiège, ex Malt co-founder and CTO, and now solopreneur. He’s got A LOT of experience in blogging 👀!

But why are we making a blogging platform?

Today, if you want to open a blog, you have to make a choice:

  • You can use Wordpress. Powerful, well-known, and cheap. But it’s also cumbersome, very heavy, and a pain to use.
  • You can use Ghost. Amazing if you want to turn your blog into a community. But it's expensive and heavily focused on community features you might not need.
  • You can develop your own blog. It’s great, and that’s the solution I was using. But not everyone is a developer, and let’s be honest: managing your own blog can be complicated. You have to handle a lot of things by yourself.

Writizzy comes in the middle of all these solutions. It takes 3 clicks to start your blog, there’s a free plan and the premium starts at 9€, and it just works. No hundreds of plugins, no AI, but a minimalist and powerful dashboard and writing editor, with fewer distractions.

You write your post, click on the publish button, and that’s it.

But I also said “powerful”… 👀. Our philosophy is to build an uncluttered platform where all the tools you need are readily available and accessible, without getting in your way. Here are a few features we’ve been working on:

  • 📊 Analytics
  • 💬 Comments
  • 🖼️ Medias
  • 💌 Newsletters
  • 🤖 AI assistant (more to come on that, we don’t want an AI that writes your posts for you)
  • ☁️ Headless CMS
  • … And more

With Hugo, we really believe that blogging is going to make a huge come back in the coming years. With the surge of AI, people are slowly realizing they NEED authenticity: hand-written, honest, authentic, sometimes raw blog posts.

Blogging is a powerful way to build the thing we’re all going to crave in the future: trust.

Writizzy is set to launch in early November. In the meantime, if you really want to try it, just shoot me a DM on X, or an email 😊.

See you soon for my first post about my journey in Da Nang 👋🏻
