Hacker Residency: Day #23

A boring sunday...? Human VS Machine

Hey!!

Well, today, I'm not going to lie: I didn't do much, so I don't have a lot to tell you about.

The morning went by pretty quickly at the villa, but I wasn't super motivated, and I quickly realized I wasn't going to manage to get much work done. I still fixed 2-3 bugs, replied to my messages, and pushed out small features on Uneed and Writizzy.

But I feel like my productivity and motivation are dropping 😅.

It's raining 24/7, it's very difficult to go out, exercise and get some fresh air. And apparently, it's not going to get better this week 😔.

I still went to the hotel gym at the end of the day, and it was good! But it's not enough, and I need more variety in my days 😅.

I still hope to manage to motivate myself to make some progress tomorrow, I have a lot of work planned! I don't know why, but I also remembered that I brought a video game console with me, my anbernic! It's a console that can emulate all kinds of retro video game consoles, like the game boy color, the super nintendo, the PS1 etc.

I took advantage of this downtime to play a bit hehe, it was cool! I also started a new tv show: American Primeval. It's beautiful and there's a lot of action so it keeps you on the edge of your seat, but so far I haven't been blown away 🤔.

Since I don't have much to talk about, I'm going to take the opportunity to briefly discuss a completely different topic:

Human VS Machines

We're talking about it a lot these days, without necessarily mentioning it clearly. We're told that AI now knows much more than we do, that it's more efficient than us at doing lots of tasks, that it's starting to take our jobs, etc.

I feel like we're increasingly taking the side of machines, and that worries me a bit.

I'm not anti-AI, but I'd like to see more initiatives where we voluntarily decide to do without it, and to side with humans. For example, by opening your own blog, and choosing not to use AI to write your articles 😎.

One of the hacker residency projects really intrigues me. It's called Once, it's created by Brian and Yen, and the concept is both simple and brilliant: Once provides you with a virtual disposable camera, to take a limited number of photos during an important event.

It's a project centered on humans, not on machines. It's cool!

Anyway, see you tomorrow for (I hope) lots of updates on my projects 👀
