The first Uneed Residency edition is happening in 15 days, and I think it’s a good time to explain: what’s the goal? Why am I doing this? Do I make any money from it?
The idea of organizing the Uneed Residency came to me last year, when I joined the first batch of the Hacker Residency in Vietnam.
I lived through one of the most incredible months of my life. It was the first time I left Europe, the first time I spent time with people doing the same job as me, the first time I worked that much…
I wanted to offer this experience to everyone, but with a few differences:
And that's the goal. It's not about making money (despite the sponsors, this first edition is going to cost me a few thousand euros!), it's not about working like crazy for a week.
It's about meeting people. Breaking the loneliness. Creating group dynamics. Being able to give and receive advice. Spending time surrounded by people who understand your craft and your ambitions. Making new friends, plain and simple!

These are the goals I'm building on to evolve Uneed over the coming months. That's why, a few months ago, I created Uneed Community, the first step of what's going to be a deep transformation of the platform.
I'm convinced that the most powerful asset an entrepreneur can have is connections.
Not "followers" on Twitter, newsletter subscribers, or +$100 of MRR, but a group of friends to exchange with, challenge each other, and share your progress with.
With this in mind, in 2026 I'm planning to put 3 things in place to transform Uneed:
This guild system will be tested during the first Residency 👀.
Best,
Thomas
