Why another blogging platform?

Why another blogging platform?

Why another blogging platform?

I get this question a lot when I talk about Writizzy on social media. It's a fair question, and I’ll do my best to answer it in this blog post.

1. The trust problem

Social media is drowning in AI slop πŸ˜… (although some AI generated content is good ofc). Step by step, we're losing authenticity: you can't even be sure what you're reading was written by a human anymore.

Here's the thing: there's no magic way to prove content is human-made. It's simply not possible.

So, in my opinion, the only path back to authenticity is trust. I'm convinced that trust will become your main competitive advantage online. People will only engage deeply with people they trust.

And you don't build trust by shitposting on X, crafting hooks on LinkedIn, or copying the same TikTok format as everyone else 😬.

You build trust through long-form content. The longer someone stays connected to your writing, the more you can share, the more human you become to them, and the more they'll trust you.

That's what Writizzy is for: building trust and building an audience.

Trust will become your main competitive advantage online

2. What's wrong with existing platforms?

We've tried them all. Here's why we weren't satisfied:

  • Ghost is expensive
  • WordPress is a pain to set up and maintain
  • Medium hides your content behind a paywall
  • Substack has a cluttered interface that gets in the way of writing
  • Most platforms lock your content in proprietary formats
  • None of them are European

And almost all of them keep adding features. Newsletter tools, podcast hosting, marketplace, subscriptions... They become bloated Swiss army knives when all you wanted was a sharp pen.

3. What we're building instead

Writizzy is different because we are different!

We're two indie makers, not a VC-funded company with growth targets. We don't have shareholders pushing us to maximize revenue. That means:

  • We won't lock your content. You can export everything, anytime.
  • We won't jack up prices every six months.
  • We won't bolt on fifty features to justify a Series A.
  • We are actively listening to your feedback, and making the platform evolve accordingly.

We just want to give you the best place to write and share your stories. That's it.

Our roadmap for 2026 isn't about shipping new features. It's about making what exists perfect. Simple, fast, beautiful, yours.

Thomas
