2025 wrapped

Thomas Sanlis

The year is already coming to an end!

I can say without much doubt that 2025 has been the most important year of my professional life.

I've always wanted to be independent, and I did absolutely everything I could to make that happen from the moment I started my studies. While freelancing was fairly easy to start and succeed at, indie hacking was a whole different story.

Well, now, I can finally say it: I made it.

My projects My business

2025 was truly the year I went from "I'm working on side projects" to "I'm growing a business".

I went full-time on my businesses in January, and I've now surpassed what I used to make in previous years doing freelance work. I still can't believe it πŸ˜….

Here are some numbers:

  • πŸ’° My projects went from $35K to$130K revenue a year
  • πŸŽ₯ 4 video interviews, including Starter Story
  • πŸ‘₯ 45,000 new accounts created on Uneed
  • πŸ‘ŠπŸ» 25,000 followers across social media
  • 🀯 7,500 products launched on Uneed
  • πŸ‘€ 500,000 visitors on Uneed
  • βœ… 2 new projects launched

Pretty crazy, right? And the best is yet to come: I'm fairly confident I should be able to hit $200K in revenue next year!

On top of that, I launched Writizzy with Hugo. It's a project that's incredibly close to my heart, because I truly believe it can do really well, and because I use it myself!

And finally, the highlight of this year for me was the Hacker Residency: in November, as you may have read on this blog, I spent a month in a villa in Vietnam with other entrepreneurs. It literally changed my life!

My plans for 2026

I have a lot of things planned. A large part of them involves Uneed, but not only!

Uneed

My goal with Uneed is simple:

I want to gradually move away from being just a launch platform, to focus on the community aspect while stabilizing my revenue.

This will involve things like more and more tools integrated into the platform to develop and grow your projects, and a subscription to access premium features and possibly a private community.

Yesterday, I released a feature that lets you collect testimonials for your products, so you can then display them on your site as a widget (a bit like Senja, but free): this is the kind of thing I want to offer. I want Uneed to become an essential platform for all indie hackers in 2026, not just for launching their projects.

Writizzy

On top of Uneed, I'm now working on Writizzy. Here, the plan is a bit less clear, and very different. No question of adding 50 features. Instead, we're going to focus on pure growth, UX/UI, and defining our target audience. My goal would be to reach $5K MRR by the end of 2026!

Mentoring

A few months ago, I started mentoring an indie hacker. And I love it! I don't want it to become a significant source of income or dedicate too much time to it, but if I could mentor one or two people throughout the year, that would be amazing.

I learn so much from it; it's intellectually stimulating, it helps others, and it's a great way to connect with other entrepreneurs!

Other projects

I have another project that I absolutely want to launch in 2026, which will be extremely complementary to Uneed. I won't say more for now, but I'll share more news soon!

And one last thing (I promise)! As I mentioned earlier, the Hacker Residency changed my life. I'd love for everyone to have this opportunity, and I want to do the same thing in France! I'll also share more news about this very soon πŸ‘€.

Finally, I want to conclude this year by thanking you. Yes, YOU! All of you, who read my blog posts, like my tweets, launch on Uneed, support me through this crazy journey…

Nothing would have been possible without your support. Thank you, my friends πŸ™πŸ»

Thomas
